The Strawbale Cabin
The Straw Bale cabin was the first Eco-construction on the Land. Built on a foundation of recycled car tyres, the straw bale walls insure perfect insulation and a warm, dry, cosy atmosphere year round.
With a retaining wall of tyres built into the side of the hill, the Earthship has rammed earth sides and floor. The "green" roof blends in to the rest of the hillside. Reclaimed materials such as wine bottles and railway sleepers were combined with cob for the walls.
The original hand-painted Mongolian yurt has a wood floor and ropes made of horsehair. Plenty of space for 3 double beds and one single bed. It is a quiet oasis located just next to the natural swimming pool and sandy beach area.
